The Very Atmosphere:

Breathing

Air is the most intimate of things. You breath in. You breath out. Air travels inside of you, gives to you and takes part of you away. I breath in. And in that breath I breath you in. And then I breath us out into the world and our breath is taken up by all those around us. The plants need us. They take that part of us we gave away. We fall into their pores and disintegrate into their bodies. Carefully our carbon dioxide is sorted from all the other chemicals this plant has captured and they are fed to various microbes gathered around the roots for succor. Toxicity breaks away into nutrients that are then fed back to the plant, fed back to the soil, fed back to the world as oxygen. And we take this oxygen with every breath and we give with every exhalation. This sharing is at the core of our very existence at the very core of all life.
